CURRICULUM VITAE
After graduating from high school and completing my military service, I studied to become a teacher at the University of Augsburg and then worked at various primary schools in Bavarian Swabia.
From 1997 to 2004, I was initially a research assistant and then a research assistant to Prof. Dr. Kaspar H. Spinner at the Chair of Didactics of German Language and Literature at the University of Augsburg. After completing my doctorate in German studies at the University of Augsburg in 2004, I returned to school service as a seminar principal. From 2006, I was a speaker and seminar representative at the Government of Swabia, responsible for the training of teachers and for the primary schools in the administrative district. During this time, I implemented the cross-year classes, worked on revising the curriculum and brought the didactic concept of "good tasks" to the area, also through a large number of publications. In 2011, I took over the technical management of the State School Office in the Aichach-Friedberg district as school authority director.
In addition to numerous didactic publications of my own, I was, among other things, editor of the LehrerBücherei Grundschule (Cornelsen Scriptor, Berlin; until 2015), the series Didaktik für die Grundschule (Cornelsen Scriptor, Berlin; until 2015), Guteaufgaben für den Wochenplan (Cornelsen Scriptor, Berlin; until 2015) and co-editor of the GrundschulMagazin (Oldenbourg Verlag, Munich; now Friedrich Verlag).
In 2014, I was elected as a non-party candidate as district administrator of the Aichach-Friedberg district; I took office on May 1, 2014. With 66.9%, I was able to clearly prevail against three competitors in March 2020 and was re-elected for another six years. (For more about my political work, see 'Politics'.)
I perform around 30 voluntary and activity-related tasks, including board of directors and personnel committee of the Augsburg KU waste recycling company (AVA), supervisory board and shareholder of the Augsburger Verkehrs- und Tarifverbund GmbH (AVV) or supervisory board and shareholder of the Augsburger Schwabenhallen Messe- und Veranstaltung GmbH (ASMV). As chairman, I led the Augsburg Recreation Area Association e.V. (EVA) and the Wittelsbacher Land e.V., among others, and was a member of the Committee for Constitutional, Legal and Cultural Issues of the Bavarian District Council (BLKT) and the Bavarian Hospital Association (BKG).
